• 5.0 out of 5 stars from Logan -- This is chock full of amazingly useful tables and ready made NPCs : I bought the random encounters guide before this and loved it. That one has quite a bit of usefulness. However, this one might be even more useful. For example, this book has tons of random tables that will help you create random NPCs that will actually have life to them. The premade NPCs are also super amazing. I will be inserting a few into my campaign for sure. The 3 adventures they put in are also pretty large and are more than a one shot for sure. Overall, get this. If not you can always change the names to suit you. Was a bit confused with one description in particular wherein a NPC was referred to as “they” but figured it was just a bit of virtue signaling after re-reading the entry and verifying that the NPC wasn’t possessed or had multiple personalities. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from John -- Creative characters with wonderful art : A really awesome book, with hundreds of fleshed out and diverse characters. There's so much here to draw inspiration from. My only (very minor, almost trivially so) complaint is that the sections (Big City, Small Town, Outskirts etc) don't have random tables/indices with the chief characteristics of the NPCs at the beginning for a quick decision in case the characters need to interact with someone. It's easy enough to just pick one at random without a table, but a quick way of grabbing an NPC of a particular alignment/background/race would have been nice.
