I also appreciate the little scenarios you put in because even when buying a “normal” house there are some things you need to sacrifice. Are these scenarios that were presented something we as a buyer are willing to accept in a tiny home? Not only that but you also include a lot of things to consider that normally wouldn’t take place in the homebuying process; where will you do laundry, water systems, taking care or composting your toilet, and so on. I also like the comparisons between the van life and the tiny house throughout the book. If you are ever find yourself in a place in your life where you want to give tiny living a try this is the guide you want to follow. What I liked about this book is all the work that the author did to help you make a decision on whether or not you want to live in a tiny house. I hadn’t realized how many different types there are. This is an excellent resource book to help you decide. I like the suggestion that you live in one room of your house and see how it goes. I still like the idea of a tiny house but I have decided to just downsize for now. You have to be a true minimalist to live in 600 square feet or less. If you are undecided this is the book for you. Kristine Hudson is direct and honest on the particulars of living in a van, and she’s clearly done massive amounts of research on the subject of residing in both vans and tiny houses.
